Songs: God Don't Make No Junk (2000)
This one's about the time I flipped my car going 80 miles an hour just after narrowly missing the Mississippi River on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border (got a ticket for "not staying in my lane"- true story). I was working for Nortel Networks at the time, driving 16 hour days around the "Great North" when I fell asleep at the wheel listening to a book on tape my Mom bought me for Christmas 2 weeks earlier. Another happy one- I guess it's about more than just that particular crash, it's about my luck as I saw it at that time, and how I thought I could "handle anything" that came to me because of all my misfortunes. I felt too close to death too many times by then, and this is how it came out in words.Well I crashed my car
And I bumped my head
But I'll take twenty bucks instead
Cause I checked my pulse
To slow it down
With Northern Lights and
a bottle of Crown
I broke my arm
And I broke my knees
I'll just take a few of these
I'll still drive on Mondays
And I'll dance all night
And if I see ya
I just might...
I've been bad
Now I'm sad
Where's my lane?
I'm insane
It's thirty miles to Colfax
This trucker's hauling steel
I'll meet you there in twenty
Pendin' how I feel
Pendin' how I feel
God don't make no junk now
He just makes them happy cows
Don't prepare, don't be scared
Growing cold, smells like mold
Static breeze
Wasted luck
Feel the fuzz
Lick the fuse
Label this
This is dangerous
I got wasted luck...
wasted luck
