Songs: Badmoutland (2001)
This was always my favorite song to play, and is still the "most requested" by anyone who has heard my songs. It's a bluesy shuffle kinda rock ditty- good vibe to it (in contrast to the sadness of my other songs). The title came from a conversation my Dad had with me about "badmouthing" him to my Aunt, still not sure why I named the song after it- sort of impulsive. The song's lyrics are about... well they explain themselves.I'm bottled in your perfect view
The secret in your stew
The last thing you should do
And if there's nothing left to say
I'll take you far away
When it's cold in May
I'm doing shots and I'm walking in my sleep
I pay and pay for things I'll never keep
It's all a blur
Stay away from her
The morning's always longer than the night
The nice girls never really were that nice
They go to church to practice rolling dice
I can't explain
Why I'm in pain
Cause the smart ones never warned me when they came
I'd practice if I knew there was a way
Instead I leave with nothing left to say
It's like being lost
It's like being found
At least sometimes you'll be around
